~ CranioSacral Therapy * Acupressure * Reflexology ~
Rachael utilizes hands-on bodywork that is gentle, nurturing and supportive, while working with the whole body to find a place of balance. She holds certifications in Acupressure and Craniosacral Therapy, and her work is influenced by Qi Gong, Sound Healing, Intuitive Awareness and Mindfulness Practice. Rachael has experience and enthusiasm working with children and adults, as well as people with disabilities.
Rachael’s relationship with the healing arts began as an infant when she received cranial osteopathy and acupuncture treatments to help correct multiple life-threatening conditions surrounding her birth. Her father is an M.D./Acupuncturist, so she grew up hearing about meridians and the movement of energy. When she later went on to pursue her own education in these very same modalities, she found great satisfaction in diving deeper into the details and substance behind this mysterious language she heard while growing up.
She has completed numerous trainings in Craniosacral Therapy, through the ‘Upledger Institute’ and the ‘Milne Institute’ (including Cranial Pediatrics), as well as Manual Therapy courses through the ‘Barral Institute’. She also completed a 250 hour Certification Program at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, Ca, and continues to deepen her studies in metaphysics through numerous trainings in Intuitive Development and Shamanic Journeying.
Rachael has a history of working with Special Needs children, teaching music therapy in schools since 2003. She has worked with students with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, RETT Syndrome, Downs Syndrome, blindness, hearing impairment, and other cogitive and physical delays. Her work with these children has been focused around music and healing. She finds tremendous joy in cultivating a safe, inspiring container for communication and self-expression with these children.
Over the past several years, Rachael has deepened her exploration of the ‘inner landscape’ through Vipassana (Mindfulness) meditation retreats, and daily meditation practice. She also has a regular practice of ‘Zhineng’ (or ‘Wisdom Healing’) Qi Gong.
What are these modalities?
Craniosacral therapy is a hands-on method of whole body evaluation and treatment that consists of gentle holds and subtle contact. Working with the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, it draws from the traditions of Osteopathy and energy work, and has been proven clinically effective in facilitating the body’s ability to heal itself. Acupressure follows the Traditional Chinese Medical model, using meridians and acu points, and activates the points using touch instead of needles. Reflexology is therapeutic hand and foot massage used to engage the body’s own natural healing mechanism. It helps with circulation, cleanses the body of toxins and impurities, benefits the blood, organs, glands and nerves, and revitalizes the body’s energy by alleviating the effects of stress and inducing deep relaxation.

“During a session we work together to cultivate trust, respect and safety, inviting all parts of the self to come forward and engage in the process of healing (physical, mental, emotional and energetic). In this way, we support a movement towards wholeness be resourcing the body’s wisdom and allowing it to find its path to balance, freedom and ease.”
