Each practitioner at Hill Park deeply enjoys their practice of medicine and partnering with patients to live their life to its fullest capacity. We take the time to understand who you are.
Our approach is personalized medicine, with each doctor having their own personal specialty, and individual foundations in one or several of the following systems of medicine:
All of the doctors at Hill Park practice integrative medicine, which is the use of a coordinated approach of conventional and alternative medicine towards health promotion, prevention, and treatment. We provide integrative family medicine care for acute, chronic, and complex health concerns. Our care is comprehensive and accounts for variability of the individual needs, conditions, and circumstances of one’s health and life story.
We pay deep attention to the underlying mental, emotional, spiritual, social, and environmental factors that have a significant influence on a person’s health and well-being. Our focus is a highly personalized approach involving consideration of the individual and total circumstances of health rather than a disease-driven approach that tends to be less efficient and impersonal.
Naturopathic medicine is a system of primary care emphasizing the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of health concerns using modern science, evidence-based alternative therapeutics, and centuries-old wisdom of successful natural therapies. Naturopathic doctors work cooperatively with all other branches of medical science and are experts in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic health concerns.
The naturopathic medical training includes conventional medical sciences as well as several years of clinical training in a variety of settings ranging from family practice clinics, hospitals, community health centers, and teaching clinics. The naturopathic doctors at Hill Park have been trained in family medicine residencies as part of their medical careers.
In addition to the medical training of a primary care doctor, naturopathic doctors have extensive training in natural therapies such as counseling, advanced clinical nutrition, homeopathy, botanical medicine, physical medicine, hormone health, and environmental medicine. Naturopathic doctors are experts in detoxification, gastrointestinal health, and obtaining optimal health through collateral balancing of all systems in the body.
Naturopathic doctors are trained as integrative medical experts from the beginning of their career with the additional core belief system of the innate ability for an individual to heal.
Integrative Cancer Support
Integrative cancer care brings all available scientific and traditionally tested therapeutics together for optimal outcomes and quality of life. This approach to care concentrates on the whole person and how to create an internal environment that is not only optimized during and after cancer treatment, but is also inhospitable to recurrence. Incorporating integrative medicine into cancer treatment uses complementary therapies and modalities that not only support the efficacy of conventional medical treatment, but also employ strategies that minimize the amount of harm to the body during treatment.
In the setting of cancer diagnosis and treatment, patients are faced with an overwhelming multitude of information ranging from very eclectic to research-based sources. Our doctors can guide a patient through this confusing informational marketplace to identify the an individualized targeted treatment plan for specific cancer care needs.
In many circumstances, we serve as advocates for our patients navigating cancer care: helping them to identify the right health care team for their circumstances, establish a means of communication with their medical team that is empowering, and seek the most specific treatment options that are individualized to their cancer cell line.
Complex Medical Cases
We are thinkers at the core and we really like to figure out what the diagnosis is for our patients. Many patients come to Hill Park Integrative Medical Center with a long list of health concerns and multiple diagnoses from other physicians. Sometimes, patients are frustrated, want more improvement in their health or don’t really understand their diagnosis.
In conventional medicine each problem is often seen in isolation. The orthopedist looks at the bone problems, the eye doctor the eye problems, the cardiologist the heart problems. What is often missing is a holistic view of the person. Perhaps all the problems are connected by a thread that weaves throughout the body, mind and spirit. Perhaps there are lab tests missing because each specialist thought the other one was taking care of it.
At Hill Park Integrative Medical Center we work with people like this every day. By reviewing your records from other physicians and taking a broader look at the situation we are able to put the pieces of the puzzle together so that they make sense. We also add our alternative view of medical care to the mix and things start falling into place. Then we work with you to start solving the problems and to begin the healing process.
